Ready To Go Glamping? Here Is What You'll Need

Almost everyone loves camping, but roughing it isn’t the best choice for all campers. Glamping is a good alternative because it brings the creature comforts and many of the luxuries of home to the great outdoors. While having an RV isn’t required for glamping, it can make the experience much more comfortable and less stressful overall. Let’s take a closer look at glamping in an RV.
What is Glamping?
Glamping means glamorous camping, or camping without sacrificing creature comforts from home. We’re talking about power, air conditioning, internet, and a comfortable bed. While it can make the camping experience much more enjoyable for some people, glamping is a lot more effort than regular camping, so let’s take a closer look at what it takes.
You can glamp in almost any RV, but it’s important to consider the size of your group and how you plan to use the vehicle. Class A motorhomes are the largest and most expensive options by far, but they can accommodate full-size beds and bathroom fixtures. Most people find Class C motorhomes to be the best option because they are more easily maneuverable and less expensive than larger Class A vehicles.
Glamping Gear
The good news about glamping is that there is no “one” way to do it. That said, having the right gear on hand can go a long way toward making the experience easier and less stressful.
The right bed and bedding can make or break a glamping trip. While you might not be able to bring your king-size bed from home, a quality memory foam mattress is a great upgrade over slumming it in a tent.
Think about technology and how you plan to use it while on the road. Satellite internet providers like Starlink make it easy to stay connected, but you’ll need space and power for all the devices. Solar panels and battery power storage are great for glamping, and can provide enough juice for all your devices.
Campgrounds
You may be able to have an excellent experience glamping at almost any campground, but it’s important to look for sites with the space and privacy you need to unwind. Glamping can take more space, and it creates more light and noise than tent camping, so you’ll want to be sure you’re far enough away from other campers to avoid bothering them.
