Yosemite National Park is one of the most breathtaking places in the country, offering sweeping panoramic views of massive rock formations, deep forested valleys, and pristine waterways. There are so many outdoor activities, things to see, and trails to hike, that it can be almost impossible to determine the best ways to make use of your short time at the park. We’ve gathered a handful of ideas to get you started on an RV adventure at the park, so let’s take a look at a short three-day trip through one of the nation’s most iconic and magical national parks.

If you only have three days in the park, you’ll want to maximize your sightseeing potential. Start with a walk through Yosemite Valley, which offers views of some of the most popular attractions in the park, including waterfalls and giant rock formations. There’s a good amount of parking at different locations around the valley, some of which may be far busier than others. Yosemite Village is nearby, where the Ansel Adams Gallery is located.

After the valley, take a trip to Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove. You’ll need to get an early start to take in all the sights, but it’s worth the effort. Super early birds can catch a sunrise at Glacier Point, which many people feel is almost a spiritual experience.

If you’re in the park during the summer, your last day should be dedicated to traveling Tioga Road and exploring Tuolumne Meadows. Tioga Road runs through the park, reaching the eastern side. You’ll travel mountain passes and have an opportunity to stop at Half Dome, Clouds Rest, and Olmstead Point at Tenaya Lake. The lake offers swimming to cool off, and it’s one of the more scenic bodies of water in the park. At 8,600 feet above sea level, Tuolumne Meadows is one of the highest meadows in the Sierra Nevada range. There are also numerous hiking opportunities around the area, including the Cathedral Lakes trail.

Tioga Road is closed in the winter, but the park still has a ton to see. Start your last day on the Mist Trail and walk to Bridalveil Falls. The waterfall has a unique appeal with cascades that look like a bride’s veil.

We couldn’t possibly cover all the attractions at Yosemite, but the park is easy to explore, offering something for everyone, whether you enjoy intense hiking and rock climbing or just want to relax and take in the views.
